Damen readies HNLMS Evertsen for voyage to Japan
After a six-week period of maintenance, Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam has this week handed the HNLMS Evertsen back to the Royal Netherlands Navy. The shipyard worked hard – together with its Dutch suppliers – to prepare the Air Defence and Command frigate for deployment on, among other things, the voyage of nearly 40,000 kilometres that she will soon be making to Japan together with the UK Carrier Strike Group.
South Korean Defence Attaché visits Nedinsco
On April 14th, we welcomed Kolonel Yongsun Kim, Defence Attaché of the Republic of South Korea. He visited Nedinsco in Venlo together with Mr. Peter Huis in ’t Veld from the NIDV. We discussed several business opportunity’s for the future and were able to demonstrate our high precision optronic product for the defence industry. This is the start of a brand new and hopefully long and fruitful relationship between South Korea and the Netherlands.
NIDV event on Foreign Comparative Test (FCT) Program a succes
The NIDV has today added a unique event to the list of activities. In collaboration with the Dutch Embassy in Washington and the Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) team of the US Department of Defense, an information meeting was held for Dutch companies to inform them about the possibilities to cooperate. It is a program specially intended for countries other than the US to get to know new technologies and innovative applications. This could result in a partnership with the United States Department of Defense.
German-Dutch materiel cooperation strengthened with a joint declaration

Photonis is proud to announce that we will continue to supply and support the Dutch Armed Forces with state-of-the-art 4G image intensifier tubes. Early this year the DMO (Defense Material Organisation) signed a contract with Elbit Systems to supply the XACT 32 NV Micro night vision monocular which features a high performance 16mm 4G image intensifier tube. The system and image intensifier offers high performance in combination with a reduction in size and weight for the operator.

Royal IHC and Royal Netherlands Navy sign contract to dock and repair HNLMS Groningen
Yesterday, Royal IHC and the Directie Materiele Instandhouding (DMI: Department of Material Maintenance) of the Royal Netherlands Navy signed a contract for the docking and repair of HNLMS Groningen. Royal IHC’s Director of Defence, Louwrens op de Beek, and DMI’s Head of Purchasing, Annemieke Selbach, put their signatures to the document at the naval yard in Den Helder.
