BSS, founded in 2008, is a Dutch Defence company leading the way in integrating robotics, AI-enabled decision support, and human-machine teaming for modern military operations.

We increase operator safety and effectiveness by reducing cognitive load and accelerating decision-making at the tactical edge. At BSS, people come first. Our mission is to deliver technology that supports—rather than replaces—human decision-making, enabling faster and better-informed actions under pressure. Collaboration is central to our approach: we build trusted ecosystems with end users, clients, industry partners, and suppliers to solve real operational problems effectively, and we believe partnerships and information sharing are essential to continuously demonstrate relevance and capability.

BSS delivers a broad portfolio of unmanned aerial and ground systems, combined with C5ISR components to connect sensors and platforms into customer networks. We support customers through Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E) programs, enabling rapid evaluation and field validation of operational concepts and mature technologies, and we provide comprehensive training, service, and repair support to ensure readiness and long-term operational availability. Modern operations require mobility and resilience—movement, rapid formation, and swift dispersal are essential to reduce detectability and increase survivability. Our solutions are designed to support these tactics by enhancing situational awareness, connectivity, and decision speed.

A core element of our approach is the Tactical Reconnaissance Strike Complex (TRSC) strategy: an integrated concept that connects sensors, decision-makers, and effectors into one coherent operational loop. TRSC shortens the time between detection, identification, decision, and action by linking unmanned platforms and C5ISR capabilities into a mission-driven network. By combining reconnaissance assets, resilient communications, and automated support for analysis and targeting workflows, TRSC increases responsiveness at the tactical edge while maintaining human control and operational accountability—improving survivability, operational tempo, and mission effectiveness.

We see robotic and autonomous systems evolving beyond their primary function into mobile computing platforms—flying, driving, and sailing sensors and communication nodes that act as data and connectivity hubs in net-centric warfare. The rapid growth of sensor-generated data requires advanced analytics, compact processing hardware, and reliable bandwidth. Future ISTAR systems will produce massive volumes of real-time information, making automation essential for filtering, fusing, and presenting insights at the point of action. BSS prioritizes data fusion, automated analysis, and clear visualization to manage cognitive load and accelerate the OODA loop. At the same time, we recognize that success in military operations also depends on fundamentals such as morale, leadership, training, and adaptability—technology must strengthen these, not distract from them.

BSS provides robotics and C5ISR solutions for Defence and homeland security applications, including UAVs, counter-drone systems, land robots, maritime and sea robots, payloads and payload carriers, communications equipment, ISR solutions, and tactical operations centers. In addition, we offer consultancy services that guide customers through integration and adoption, tackle complex operational and technical challenges, and ensure rapid knowledge transfer for sustained project success.
