OPTICS11 develops and supplies state-of-the-art fiber optic sensing systems for unmatched performance in the most challenging environments.
They are active in the field of underwater acoustics (hydrophones, towed arrays, streamers), NDT research (including acoustic emission) and SHM (Structural Health Monitoring of bridges, tunnels, roads). Currently the company employs about 55 people at their location in Amsterdam. There is also a small R&D center located in Dublin (Ireland). In the view of the promising fiber sensing market and the growth ambition, there are ambitious expansion plans to add 35 additional employees.
Application areas for OPTICS11 technology include besides submarines, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), geographic surveys and sensor systems for monitoring underwater activity. OPTICS11 is collaborating for many years with Defense, as in general the technology is very relevant for them.
