Event with Elbit Systems attracts 100 participants

On July 21, Elbit Systems and the NIDV, held a virtual industry day for Dutch companies. The event was conducted in cooperation with the Commissariat for Military Production of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. With about 100 participants, a large part of the Dutch defense technological and industrial base participated in the three-hour live broadcast.

Delegation Lockheed Martin visits Eindhoven Air Base

On July 22, a delegation from Lockheed Martin, along with several NIDV companies, visited Eindhoven Air Base. This week Lockheed Martin is visiting the Netherlands with the delegation to get acquainted with the business community they may be able to involve in future projects.

Roll-out of the first Dutch MQ-9 Reaper

On July 7th, the first Dutch unmanned aircraft of the type MQ-9 Reaper rolled out of the factory of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI). The aircraft with the registration number M-001 has the Dutch roundel and Dutch registration marks. In total, the Royal Air Force will receive 4 aircraft.

Damen Shipyards completes maintenance and modernisation of HNLSM Snellius

Damen Shipyards Den Helder has returned the HNLMS Snellius to the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) following her midlife upgrade. The hydrographic survey vessel required a complex and diverse scope of work taking almost a year to complete. The vessel was delivered ahead of the agreed date.

The Netherlands represented at DEFEA exhibition in Athens

For the first time in a while, the Dutch defense and security industry is represented at an international exhibition. From 13 to 15 July the NIDV will participate in Defence Exhibition Athens (DEFEA) as a follow-up to the industry day and the activities related to the Partners in Business program of the Dutch government.

First Dutch military satellite takes orbit

Last week, the first Dutch satellite was successfully launched. At 16:47 on the 30th of June, with the use of a Virgin Orbit Boeing 747, the Royal Netherlands Airforce launched the experimental BRIK-II nanosatellite into orbit. Being named after the first aircraft of the Royal Dutch Airforce in 1913, it marks the beginning of the operationalization of possibilities within the space domain.

The NEDS is the largest business event for the Dutch defense and security sector in the Benelux and the moment to meet manufacturers, users and your network. On November 18 we would like to welcome you to the physical event in Ahoy, Rotterdam. Of course, we will follow the applicable COVID19 rules. NEDS 2021 will take place on Thursday, November 18 from 9:00 to 17:00.
