During the NIDV Exhibition Defence & Security (NEDS) in Rotterdam, numerous strategic contracts and partnerships were signed that further strengthen the Netherlands’ position in the international defence industry. In a time of increasing geopolitical tensions and digital threats, cooperation between government, knowledge institutes and industry is crucial to guarantee technological sovereignty and operational effectiveness.

More than 3,000 visitors and around 150 exhibitors gathered on Thursday 21 November for the 35th edition of NEDS. At a time when scaling up and accelerating procurement and production is paramount importance, the exhibition was a great opportunity to catch up on the latest developments in the field of the defence and security industry in a single day.

On the 26th and 27th of June, government special envoy Maxime Verhagen visited Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth together with reprentatives from the Ministry for economic affairs and climate, industry, and knowledge institutions and the NIDV.
