Wensink Automotive provides defense customers with something rare: a single industrial partner capable of handling the full vehicle lifecycle in-house. From engineering and custom builds to large-scale reconditioning, surface treatment, and fleet management, Wensink’s network of specialized subsidiaries covers every phase. With approximately 800 technical specialists across 40 locations in the Netherlands, and a strategic partnership with LUEG for specialized vehicle production, Wensink brings both the depth and the scale that institutional programs demand.
Wensink Automotive is a full-cycle mobility group founded in 1986, employing around 1,400 people across approximately 40 locations in central and northeast Netherlands. The company represents Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Kia, smart, and FUSO, and delivers vehicles and technical services to both commercial and institutional customers.
Wensink supports customers through an integrated network of specialized subsidiaries. Trias Trailers (Apeldoorn, est. 1959) designs and builds trailers and towed equipment with its own engineering and R&D department, including thermally galvanized structures. Van de Weijer (Barneveld/Lunteren) provides bodywork, custom vehicle builds, and modifications from concept to production, and is an official Hiab dealer. B. de Wilde handles industrial surface treatment including grit blasting, metalizing, and powder coating. Truck & Trailer operates at five locations for brand-independent maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers. The reconditioning center in Groningen processes 15,000 to 17,000 vehicles per year, with capacity for series production, assembly, subassembly, and retrofit programs. Fleetcraft provides brand-independent fleet management, vehicle configuration, and operational deployment planning.
Wensink’s in-house capabilities span the full vehicle lifecycle: from R&D and engineering through production, surface treatment, maintenance, reconditioning, modification, and end-of-life programs. Since January 1st, 2026, Wensink has partnered with LUEG (Bochum), regarded as the world market leader in ambulance production with approximately 2,500 vehicles per year. This partnership extends Wensink’s capacity for specialized vehicle production and international program support. As a NIDV member, Wensink positions itself as an industrial lifecycle partner for defense customers operating wheeled and trailer-based assets.
