Since its origins, Serco has been a pioneer in the delivery of critical support services. Serco origins go back to 90 years to Radio Corporation of America Services Limited which served the growing UK cinema industry. RCA diversified into the production of military sonar and communications equipment.

In 1987 the company was renamed Serco (SERvice COmpany) following a management buy-out. During the 1990’s Serco witnessed a period of international expansion driven by the demand of governments across the world looking to introduce competition to sustain and improve the running of public services.
